Fuentes Rojas/Bordando por la paz y la memoria will host a taller, a sewing workshop, at the Poetry Center on Saturday, April 6, in conjunction with the exhibit Broken Threads, Lives Unraveled: Fuentes Rojas and the Migrant Quilt Project. Participants will receive embroidery instruction and practice to create an embroidered pañuelo (handkerchief). Participants will be able to embroider a memorial or message of their own, or choose to join Fuentes Rojas by committing to complete a pañuelo using text generated by the organization, to be returned to Mexico City when finished.
Fuentes Rojas will provide instructions and materials; participants don’t need to know how to embroider. Please contact Suzanne Hesh to reserve a space. The taller will be limited to 12 participants.
