Lisa Wells

Lisa Wells is a poet and nonfiction writer from Portland, Oregon. Her debut collection of poetry, THE FIX, was selected by Brenda Shaughnessy for the 2017 Iowa Poetry Prize. A book of nonfiction, Believers, is forthcoming from Farrar, Straus & Giroux. Her work can be found in Granta, Harper’s Magazine, The Believer, N+1, The Iowa Review, Best New Poets, and elsewhere, and has been recognized with grants and fellowships from Caldera Arts, The Regional Arts and Culture Council, the Napa Valley Writers’ Conference, and The Iowa Writers’ Workshop where she received an MFA in Poetry. She’s taught creative writing at the University of Iowa, the University of Arizona, and Yale-NUS College in Singapore where she was a 2015 Writing Fellow in Residence. She currently divides her time between Seattle and Tucson.
