As Senior Library Specialist, Julie Swarstad Johnson manages the daily operations of the Poetry Center Library. She provides reference services, orders and processes new books and periodicals, works with library volunteers, runs the Shop Talk program and exhibitions programs, and coordinates work on Voca, the Poetry Center's online audiovisual archive. She is also the producer for the podcast Poetry Centered.

Julie is the author of Pennsylvania Furnace (Unicorn Press, 2019), as well as the chapbooks Orchard Light (Seven Kitchens Press, 2020) and Jumping the Pit (Finishing Line Press, 2015). With Christopher Cokinos, she is co-editor of Beyond Earth's Edge: The Poetry of Spaceflight (University of Arizona Press, 2020). She holds an MA in library and information science from the University of Arizona, an MFA in poetry from Penn State, and a BA in creative writing and anthropology from the University of Arizona.
