Jonathan VanBallenberghe is an award-winning documentary and commercial filmmaker. His 2011 documentary Guru premiered at the Tribeca IFF, where it won a Special Jury Mention for Best Documentary Short. His first full-length documentary, The Ostrich Testimonies, premiered at the 2008 SXSW IFF and won Best of Arizona at the Arizona IFF. In the Company of Moose (2009) can be seen on television and on InFlight. Current projects include See Me, Hear Me and River of Bears, a planetarium program about Alaska’s McNeil River Bear Sanctuary. He lives in Tucson, Arizona, where he runs Open Lens Productions with his wife, Sharon Wahl. Last but not least, he has an MFA in Poetry from the University of Arizona.
