Coral Bracho (Mexico City, 1951) has published most of her books of poetry in Ediciones Era, including her Collected Poems: Poesía reunida 1977-2023. Among her grants and prizes are the Aguascalientes National Prize for Poetry, the Xavier Villaurrutia Prize (Best book of the year), the FIL Literary Award in Romance Languages 2023, The International Prize Federico García Lorca 2025 (Granada, Spain), a John Simon Guggenheim fellowship, The Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte and The Borchard Foundation fellowships. In 2008, New Directions, N.Y. published Firefly under the Tongue, and in 2021 It must Be a Misunderstanding, translated by Forrest Gander. In 2022, Carcanet Poetry published in Great Britain his translations in It must Be a Misunderstanding. New and Selected Poems.
