Ames Meeks

they/them

Ames Meeks is a Tucson-based interdisciplinary artist, death doula, and community archivist committed to building compassionate, creative spaces for reflecting on death, grief, and legacy. They’ve been working with these themes, primarily through Risograph printing, zine-making, and artists’ books, for nearly two decades. From March 2020 to August 2025, they shared their personal, feminist zine library and love of DIY publishing with the local Tucson community via their zine bike, known as Outspokin’ & Bookish. They currently serve as the co-director of the Arizona Queer Archives, where they are building upon existing zine-collections and programs that help preserve queer legacies.
