Allison Adelle Hedge Coke’s most recent honors include 2023 Thomas Wolfe Prize, 2022 Finalist National Book Award, 2022-2023 Emory Elliott Book Award, 2021-2022 Legacy Artist Fellowship from the California Arts Council, 2022-2023 UCR Dean’s Mellon Professorship, 2021 Texas Institute of Letters induction, 2021 AWP George Garrett Award, and was a Fulbright Scholar in 2019. An American Book Award winning author, 2016 Library of Congress Witter Bynner Fellow, and 2015 PEN Southwest awardee, she is Distinguished Professor of Creative Writing for the University of California Riverside, where she directs UCR Writers Week Festival, directs the Designated Emphasis in Medical Health and Humanities in the UCR School of Medicine, and is affiliated faculty for the the new department of Society, Health Equity, and Sustainability. Her eighth authored book is Look at This Blue (Coffee House Press, 2022) and tenth edited book is Effigies III.
