The Poetry Center is hosting a professional development workshop for high school teachers involved in Poetry Out Loud. The ½ day workshop addresses strategies for teaching poetry recitation in the classroom and organizing and presenting a school-wide competition. Teachers will also meet with the visiting poet who will come to their school and coach their students for a brief pre-planning meeting. Lead teachers receive a stipend of $75 to $100 and certificate of completion for attending this professional development workshop.
