Apply to Attend the Fall 2025 Teachers Institute: Community Publishing & Poetic Belonging

From October 24-26, the University of Arizona Poetry Center—in partnership with the Poetry Foundation—is holding a Teacher's Institute around the theme of "Community Publishing & Poetic Belonging." The institute is free to attend, and open to classroom teachers, community educators, and librarians who work with middle and high school grade levels.

The focus of the seminars and workshops will be on how to share poetry and creative writing that originated in the classroom with a wider public audience, and on using these literary forms to deepen affinity and understanding among diverse students, schools, and communities. Some topics that will be covered include poetry-based murals, using audiovisual archives to teach poetry, and zine-making.

If you are interested in attending the Institute, please complete this application.

The priority application period will end on Friday, June 20, 2025.

We will notify applicants of acceptance on Friday, July 11, 2025.

Attendance is limited to 50 participants.
