Please join us for a reception for Soldiering / Dreams of Wartimes, a recent collaboration between visual artist Noah Saterstrom and poet Anne Waldman. Refreshments will be provided, and visual artist Noah Saterstrom will talk about the experience of working on the exhibit.
Soldiering / Dreams of Wartimes consists of a 45’ frieze of oil paintings, a continuous narrative painted by Saterstrom in response to and in conjunction with Waldman’s text. The single work spans the walls of the Poetry Center Library and is accompanied by printed excerpts from the text.
Noah Saterstrom is a visual artist and independent curator and lecturer. Recent solo exhibitions of his paintings and drawings include Bisbee, Brooklyn, New Orleans, Glasgow, and Asheville, North Carolina. Anne Waldman is a poet, professor, performer, cultural activist, and the author of over 40 books and small press editions of poetry and poetics, including most recently Manatee/Humanity; the anthology Beats at Naropa, co-edited with Laura Wright; Fast Speaking Woman; and many more.
