The Distinguished Visitors in Creative Writing Series, curated by faculty of the Creative Writing Program at the University of Arizona, presents a reading by Elissa Washuta & Sarah Minor.

Elissa Washuta is a member of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe and the author of White Magic, Starvation Mode, and My Body Is a Book of Rules. With Theresa Warburton, she co-edited the anthology Shapes of Native Nonfiction: Collected Essays by Contemporary Writers. Elissa is an associate professor at the Ohio State University, where she teaches in the MFA Program in Creative Writing. Her next book, The Big Score, is an experimental business memoir about money, videogames, and sickness, forthcoming from Washington Square Press.

Sarah Minor is a writer and interdisciplinary artist and the author of three books: Carousel: An Essay on Seeing (Yale University Press), Slim Confessions: The Universe as a Spider or Spit (Noemi Press) and the award-winning collection Bright Archive (Rescue Press), as well as the digital chapbook The Persistence of the Bonyleg: Annotated (Essay Press 2016). Minor teaches in the University of Iowa’s Nonfiction Writing MFA program and serves as the Video Essay Editor at Brink Literary Magazine.
