How do we write love poems? Who are love poems about: the lover or beloved? In this generative poetry workshop, we will use Anne Carson’s framing of eros as an initial site of inquiry into intimacy, longing, and the triangulation of desire. From there, we will explore strategies for writing into and across the boundaries that separate the lover and beloved, family (of origin and found), and friends, even as we explore how we are bound.
