Poet and Poetry Center docent Colleen Burns will lead a discussion of the work of Carl Phillips, who reads for the Poetry Center on November 1. A Professor of English and of African and Afro-American Studies at Washington University in St. Louis, Phillips is an influential poet, translator, and scholar of the classics. His recent book is the Los Angeles Times Book Prize–winner Double Shadow.
