In this workshop, we will explore the Jungian concept of symbolism as the language of the unconscious. If divination is a kind of reading, in this workshop we will refine our ability to read our own symbols and those of others. We will do some way-finding of our own symbolic systems through a series of generative exercises borrowed from magic, divination, and myth. We will also read together in more ways than one: tarot spreads, poems and prose (by the likes of Olga Broumas, Linda Gregg, and Selah Saterstrom), and our work generated "in-house" during the session. Finally, we will discuss the major advantages of tracking one's personal symbology and some practices that keep one abreast of their shifting significations.
