Meeting will take place in the Poetry Center's Alumni Room, Room 205; limit 12 students. SOLD OUT.
Walt Whitman, the visionary Brooklyn poet who basically invented American free verse as we know it, was a master of poetic craft. In this class we'll read and talk about some powerful passages from his work where his signature poetic strategies are on display. We'll also do a series of short writing exercises practicing some of these techniques. Participants can expect to take home some new poetic tools to use in their own composing process.
