Latinx Poets Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon

Friday, March 15, 2019 - 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Come to the Poetry Center to learn the basics of Wikipedia editing and improve coverage of Latinx poets on the Internet's largest, most popular reference site! We're partnering with the Latinx Writers Caucus and the UA Libraries to offer this edit-a-thon, which will take place onsite at the Poetry Center. No prior experience editing Wikipedia is required. All you'll need is a laptop (if you have one) and a Wikipedia account, which you can sign up for here (please do this before the event). We will have a limited number of extra laptops on site, and we'll set you up with all the training you'll need to get started on your first Wikipedia edits. Lunch will be provided. If you're planning to come, please RSVP here to help us prepare.

For this edit-a-thon, we'll use information from the Poetry Center library catalog and other sources to update and expand information on Latinx poets' Wikipedia pages. It's easy, it's fun, and the impact is measurable. Join us!
