First Meeting of Oracular Writing

Writing is always cooperation with an unknowable question, and is sometimes navigation through total darkness. Writing is happening all the time, not just when you sit down to type. What happens to writing under the influence of a certainty that you are a sovereign being in the world, susceptible and sensitive to signs, coded messages, little electric shocks, encounters…? Such receptivity depends on sharpened senses and commitment to collection of evidence and field notes drawn from your “experiences.” Rejecting events for the gesture, memories for qualities, paths for indices, students will receive a hyper-infusion of writing missions over the course of six weeks, and will have an opportunity to share their thoughtwork, transductions or any finished work that surfaces from these missions.
