Spend time reading and discussing the literary figures who comprise the foundation of the Poetry Center’s past and vibrant present: Ruth Stephan, Jeremy Ingalls, Richard Shelton, and Alison Hawthorne-Deming. Read founding documents, explore the Center’s vast archives and rare book room, and develop a facility for how the Poetry Center works. By the end of this course, participants will lead their own 20 minute tour of the Poetry Center for a general audience and be ready to undertake the volunteer work of docents.
