ECOPOETICS: A Writer's Way of Knowledge with Lorna Dee Cervantes

Wednesday, September 14, 2022 - 5:00pm to 8:00pm

Wednesday, September 14th, 5:00PM - 8:00PM

Meeting will take place in the Poetry Center's Alumni Room, Room 205; limit 12 students. Register here.

This intensive all-levels poetry workshop will examine the “whole enchilada” of the poetic process guided by the “Four Directions” of the creative-critical process: Generation, Selection, Re-Vision, Critical Evaluation while focusing on participant's work (3-5 poems submitted in advance), including mine from April on Olympia. In-class generative exercise and workshopping of one poem. Group handout and poet/poem suggestions for each participant. Strategies, tools and insights will be shared in real time. There’s a lot that goes into an enchilada—as you can imagine, and tasted, you can make. Eco-poetics means housework.
