The Poetry Center is seeking facilitators for Kids Create!

The Poetry Center is seeking facilitators for our Kids Create event, held once a month for eight months of the year—September, October, November, December, January, February, March and April. Kids Create (formerly Family Days) is held on a different Saturday each month from 10 am until 1 pm. It includes age-appropriate creative writing activities, a story time sing-a-long for infants and toddlers, a concert and a free healthy breakfast. The expected time commitment is 5 hours per month (9 am-2 pm, one Saturday per month). The Poetry Center can offer an honorarium of $150 to those who are selected to lead a session.

Facilitators are not employees of the University of Arizona, the Poetry Center, or the University of Arizona Foundation.

Participants will be required to complete Poetry Center paperwork and show proof of passing a finger print based background check. The Poetry Center will cover processing fees associated with the background check for selected participants.

Expectations:

  • Plan and execute a story time or lesson for one of the Kids Create age groups (0-3 years old, 4-6 years old, and 7-10 years old).
  • Event set up and break down.
  • Supervision during the breakfast concert.
  • Help with assorted tasks, which may include but are not limited to working the sign-in desk, distributing and collecting surveys, and fielding questions for participants.

Please email a cover letter and resume to Wren Awry at dgoblirsch@email.arizona.edu by September 4th, 2018.
