A hallmark of our work for the past 60 years has been hosting poets and inviting them to give readings. You can visit the podium where the magic happens in our interactive 360 tour (scroll about halfway down the page at the link) by exploring the Poetry Center’s Rubel Room. Click the hotspots in that space to hear poems from Joy Harjo, Terrance Hayes, Robert Creeley, and Lucille Clifton.
The Poetry Center’s Art for Justice Project is part of a longer history of working with incarcerated writers and those impacted by the justice system. But sure to visit the bamboo garden in our interactive 360 tour to hear poems written for the project by Ada Limón, Evie Shockley, and a story from Carolyn Forché about visiting a writing workshop in an Arizona prison.
