Aisha Sabatini Sloan is the K-12 education program coordinator at the Poetry Center, particularly supporting the Writing Your Community program. She holds an MA in cultural studies and studio art from NYU and an MFA in nonfiction from the University of Arizona. She is the author of an essay collection, The Fluency of Light (University of Iowa Press, 2013), and her work has appeared in journals such as Ecotone, The Southern Review, Michigan Quarterly Review, Ninth Letter and The Offing. She is a contributing editor for Guernica: A Magazine of Art and Politics.
