Professional Development: Teaching the Middle East Through Literature (Grades 6-12 teachers and pre-service teachers)

Join us on September 8th (6-12 teachers and preservice teachers) for a professional development session focused on using books from and about the Middle East in your classroom. This professional development session will be led by Dr. Lisa Adeli, Director of Educational Outreach for the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, in tangent with the UA Poetry Center’s Brave Books program. The professional development will include an exploration of books and lesson plan materials, a tour of the Poetry Center’s Brave Books area, and a catered Middle Eastern lunch. Each teacher will leave with a free book, a fully developed lesson plan, and five professional development credit hours.

A $15 deposit is required to enroll. This deposit will be refunded to you contingent upon your attendance at the professional development session.
