Whitman Circle Summer Social with Ken Lamberton

06/18/2014 - 5:30pm

Join the UA Poetry Center and celebrate Tucson’s summer months through a short series featuring local artists and writers. These free, informal gatherings are designed for any and all who wish to escape the heat and enjoy engaging conversation with new friends.

Come for wine or a beverage on your way home from work; stay as long as you like.  All are welcome.  We can’t wait to see you!

In this first of three summer socials, Lamberton shares photos and stories from his latest book, Chasing Arizona: One Man’s Year-long Obsession with the Grand Canyon State, a collection of humorous essays and memoirs from Lamberton's travels to monument and historical sites throughout the state: 52 destinations in 52 weeks.

Ken Lamberton  is the author of numerous books, including Wilderness and Razor Wire (2000), which won the 2002 John Burroughs Medal for outstanding nature writing. Dry River: Stories of Life, Death, and Redemption on the Santa Cruz was published by the University of Arizona Press in 2011. His latest book, Chasing Arizona: One Man’s Year-long Obsession with the Grand Canyon State, will be published by the University of Arizona Press in 2015.
