Inspect the Collection With the Shelf-Reading Brigade
Tuesday, February 5 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
You’re well-read. You’re cultivated. You eat poems for breakfast. But how well do you really know the Poetry Center’s collection? Join the Shelf-Reading Brigade to find out! On Tuesday, February 5, we’ll read shelves (check each shelf to make sure books are in the proper order) from 5 to 8 pm. Along the way, we can just about guarantee that you’ll discover some new-to-you poetry—or rediscover an old favorite. Bring a notebook, jot down titles for later, and refresh yourself afterward with free pizza courtesy of the Poetry Center.
In addition, all our shelvers will be entered in a drawing to win cool (and literary!) prizes.
No prior training is needed—we’ll bring you up to speed when you arrive. We will meet in the library at 5 pm and end no later than 8 pm. Space is limited to 25 shelvers and prior sign-up is required. To sign up, email Sarah Kortemeier at ssk@email.arizona.edu by February 3.
