Each great American novel aspires to tell the largest of American stories—to explore a universal truth about the American experience. So it makes sense that on the bookshelf of great American novels, we find many stories of immigration. Join A Closer Look Book Club as we read one of our favorite of these: The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, a story of a second-generation Dominican-American geek, his family, history, and his countries. Junot Díaz's The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao won of the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for fiction.
