Whitman Circle Summer Social: Poetry and Climate Change featuring Eric Magrane

Whitman Circle Summer Socials are hosted by the University of Arizona Poetry Center Whitman Circle and are open to all.  All three 2016 summer socials will take place in the Copper Room at Hotel Congress.

Is climate change an opportunity for social transformation, and can poetry offer provocations and insights along the way? Join us for a Whitman Circle Summer Social happy hour with poet and geographer Eric Magrane in a discussion on poetry and climate change. In fall 2015, Magrane designed and taught a Climate Change & Poetry course for the Poetry Center, one of the first of its kind anywhere. Come join the conversation as the Poetry Center gears up for next year's reading series with a special focus on climate change.

This event takes place in the Copper Room at Hotel Congress.   The event will feature complimentary snacks and a cash bar; doors at 5:30, program at 6pm.  The Poetry Center is committed to programming that is accessible to all.  Please contact us with questions or concerns: 520-626-3765.
