Poetry Out Loud: National Recitation Contest, a national program for high school teachers and students, seeks to foster the next generation of literary readers by capitalizing on the latest trends in poetry – recitation and performance. The National Endowment for the Arts and The Poetry Foundation partner with the State Arts Agencies to bring the Poetry Out Loud program to all 50 states and the US territories.
Timeline for 2014-2015 year program is as follows:
August 4, 2014 Registration Opens
October 24, 2014 Registration Closes
February 7, 2015 Deadline for Schools to hold school contests
February 9, 2015 Deadline for Schools to submit information about winners
February 14, 2015 at 1 p.m. Southern Region Competition: U of A Poetry Center
March 12, 2015 Arizona State Finals: Herberger Theater Center
April 27-29, 2015 National Finals
